Original paintings, prints and photography

Artist Jen Larkin lives and paints in beautiful Cornwall. She walks every day and takes her sketchbook, camera and a keen eye to places near and far - often camping en route during extended walks with her husband John, a survival instructor. Recent inspiration includes travels along the South West and Pembrokeshire Coast Paths, plus Wainwright's 190-mile 'Coast to Coast' route - an epic walk from England's West to East Coast crossing the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales the Cleveland Hills and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Past journeys to the Outer Hebrides and the Scilly Isles are also of great influence. Her eye is constantly drawn to 'interfaces', to the meeting of the elements... seeking out dramatic locations and vistas which, she feels, are simultaneously at the edge and centre of existence. Walking and travel are at the core of her art practice: the rhythms

of her journeys inspire her to paint, to capture something of the experience. The changing quality of light upon a landscape, or in the skies above, fuels a passion for colour and atmosphere. As Jen says, however, “My personal experiences, translated into paint, can only create part of the work: each unique viewer, in their mind’s eye, must complete it”.
